Betty & Co. Patisserie Inc. ("Betty & Co.", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or order from us, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy law.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

  • Information you give us — when you fill in a form, place an order or commission a custom cake we collect your name, email, phone number, delivery address (where applicable) and the contents of any message you send.
  • Information collected automatically — when you visit this site we collect basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, referring page, the pages you read and the time you spent on them.

3. How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry or fulfil an order.
  • To process payment (we use Stripe; we never see your full card number).
  • To improve our website and our menu (we look at aggregated, non-identifying analytics).
  • To send you a newsletter — only if you ticked the box.
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertising networks.

4. Who we share your information with

We share information only with service providers who help us operate (e.g. Stripe for payments, Postmark for transactional email, our shipping carrier for deliveries). These providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only on our instructions.

5. How long we keep your information

Order records are retained for seven years to meet Canada Revenue Agency requirements. General enquiries are deleted after 24 months. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

6. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies (to remember your cookie preference and shopping basket) and optional analytics cookies (Plausible Analytics — privacy-friendly, no cross-site tracking). You can choose "Essential only" on our cookie banner to disable analytics. You can also clear cookies at any time from your browser settings.

7. Your rights

Under PIPEDA you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, withdraw consent, and complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We aim to respond within 30 days.

8. Security

This website is served exclusively over HTTPS. Order data is processed by Stripe, a Level 1 PCI-DSS certified provider. Internally, access to customer information is restricted to staff who need it.

9. Children

Our website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update this page if our practices change. Significant changes will be highlighted on the home page for 30 days.
